Abstract

This article titled: The art of Translation and Arabization in contemporary Arabic productions in Nigerian (reality and expectations). The study targets at examining the role of Translation from Arabic language into Nigerian local languages and vice versa in the modern Nigerian Arabic literary works. And that the Arabic Translation has attracted the interest of scholars during the 20th century AD. The researcher deploys inductive analytical method. The study finds that the Translation of Arabic literary works into Nigerian indigenous languages has been in existence since the period of Sheikh Usmanu Bin Fodiyo. However, the 20th century is beginning of proper growth and development of Arabic Translation especial among the academic researchers. The study therefore recommends the need for Translating Arabic productions into Nigerian local languages and vice versa.
